About The Cape Town Java User Group (CTJUG)The CTJUG was started in 1999 by Brian Silberbauer: "Java was a young technology then and did not have the popularity it does today, I started the JUG to find out who else was using java in Cape Town and to share ideas and network. It was a great way of meeting people and I have made a lot of friends over the years through the JUG".
The CTJUG has always been community driven, which is one of the reasons it has survived as long as it has. It does mean it relies on the generosity of various companies including, but not limited to: Creator Solutions, MagmaTec, Frogfoot Networks, ZSD, Software Futures, Sun Microsystems, Communicate and SAFmarine. We might be knocking on your door soon :) Committee members who have contributed in the past include: Brian Silberbauer, Steven van der Merwe, Jeffrey Mutonho, Carl Woermann, Enrico Goosen, Samir Franciscus and Fritz Meissner.
The CTJUG has met sporadically over the years, but hope to meet more regular this year. |
